Ingredients

  • ajwain caraway seeds100 g ajwain carom seeds
  • kali jeeri - black cumin seeds50 g kali jeeri bitter cumin – black cumin
  • ginger powder3 tbsp ginger powder Optional
  • asafetida -hing2 tbsp asafetida (hing) Optional

Instructions
 

  • Using a small fry pan, dry roast the 250 g methi, approx 1-2 minutes, or until you smell the roasted aroma. Place them aside and let them cool down.

  • Repeat the procedure with 100 g ajwain.

  • Repeat with 50 g kali jeeri.

  • Once all 3 toasted seeds have cooled (they need to be completely cold!) mix them together and add the 3 tbsp ginger powder and 2 tbsp asafetida. Mix well.

  • Place the mix into a spice grinder (or pestle and mortar) and grind until it forms a fine dry powder. Store in an airtight container in a cool place for future use.

How to Use Methi Ajwain Kali Jeeri Powder

To begin with start by adding one teaspoon of Methi Ajwain Kali Jeeri powder to a large glass of warm water. Let the mix soak for 5-10 mins and drink. The best time to take is a few hours before bed. Alternatively you can take 1/2 teaspoon of the powder, again mixed in water with each of your meals. This helps prevent blood sugars increasing after meals.

You can use the powder uninterrupted for 40 days. Then you need to stop for a minimum of 10 days, before resuming again. This is important for the powder to remain effective.
