The Powder Recipe
Ayurvedic Weight Loss Powder
Ingredients
250 g methi (fenugreek seeds)
100 g ajwain (carom seeds)
50 g kali jeeri ( bitter cumin – black cumin)
3 tbsp ginger powder (Optional)
2 tbsp asafetida ((hing) Optional)
Equipment
Method
- Using a small fry pan, dry roast the 250 g methi, approx 1-2 minutes, or until you smell the roasted aroma. Place them aside and let them cool down.
- Repeat the procedure with 100 g ajwain.
- Repeat with 50 g kali jeeri.
- Once all 3 toasted seeds have cooled (they need to be completely cold!) mix them together and add the 3 tbsp ginger powder and 2 tbsp asafetida. Mix well.
- Place the mix into a spice grinder (or pestle and mortar) and grind until it forms a fine dry powder. Store in an airtight container in a cool place for future use.
